Effectively integrating technology into lessons is possible. Just like anything in education it takes planning, preparation, routine, and classroom management. Throughout the course I was able to learn from my peers new ways of incorporating technology so that my classroom as a whole can be even more successful. Learning about new technologies such as Tes Teach, Keynote, voice typing in Google Docs, Screencastify, and many others have increase my knowledge of tools available for students to use.

This course inspired me to push the boundaries and to create and implement a grade level wide project based learning opportunity for fourth grade students. 96 fourth graders are taking part in a month long PBL to learn about what their lives would be like in 1869. This project started as a thought and then became a huge project where both teachers and students are collaborating and facilitating learning. This project has helped me learn and grow as a teacher in many ways. I created a UbD guide that clearly outlines the standards, objectives, materials, responsibilities of students, teachers, and parents. This forced me to backwards plan and create a step by step guide of where I wanted to my students to be and how they were going to get there. It was a great learning experience for me.

This course gave me great insight into assistive technology. Ensuring that all students have the tools they need to be successful throughout the school day is very important. Whether it be using glasses to improve vision, special voice technology so that students can type, tools to help them open lockers, zip coats, carry their lunch tray, or hold a pencil. These are day to day tasks that many students take for granted. We are able to help students using assistive technology be more independent and like their peers.

I have enjoyed this class and will take what I've learned and continue to implement new things in my classroom.
