This class and working with peers has helped me to become more educated in how to help my students collaborate and make connections using technology. Learning how to enhance student understanding through blogging, video conferencing, and digital portfolios for students.
It was interesting to learn that many not many teachers we work with are using blogs, digital portfolios, or video conferencing. Myself and my peers were unable to find teachers that we work with using these things. This tells me that we need to have professional development available so that we can bring these thing into our classrooms to expose our students to new ways of learning.
This class has allowed me to grow as an educator. I have reached out to my professional learning network (PLN) to try and make connections so that my students can video conference with others. I’ve researched how to set-up and use video conferencing. I exposed my peers to virtual field trips which I think is another way to enhance learning and provide opportunities for our students.
I will continue my learning through seeking out professional learning opportunities and working with peers who are more experienced than myself. I will continue my education at the University of St. Francis to continue in my Masters of Education with a concentration in Educational Technology.
